I would not recommend kerosene to do any cleaning because of the danger it can bring to your environment. I agree with what Doug mentioned before with the Acetone. It is a simple product to find and it is a very fast drying solvent. You want to use anything that dries fast so there is no issue with residue left over on the plates after cleanup.
